Dear colleagues,

Next 26th-27th November, 2010, the 16th Symposium of the SSMH about the DIVULGATION OF THE HISTORY OF MEDICINE («La divulgación en historia de la medicina: por qué, dónde y cómo») will be held in Córdoba. This meeting aims to:

- discuss strategic topics related to the divulgation of the History of Science from a multidisciplinary perspective,

- highlight the scientific, ethical and social need to share our work,

- make our research activity more transparent by seeking for strategies that improve the communication between scientists.



The preliminary program is based on three sections:

  1. The social meaning and the academic acknowledgement of divulgative essays. Spanish Ministries & Scientific Policy. Company-Scientist Relations. The Scientist's Perspective. Divulgation: Pros & Cons.
  2. Divulgation Madiators & Scientific Divulgation Experts. People & institutions that enable the divulgation of History of Medicine. Professional Strategies. Companies Institutional Policy.
  3. Experiences. History of Medicine experts' perspective on divulgation. Divulgative Texts Value. European Debates on Divulgation.
